To find out if the PI Library provides access to the electronic version of a specific journal or periodical, go to the Library Web page at www.pi.ac.ae/library.

On the library page, look for the “Journals A-Z” link

Enter the title of the journal into the Journals A-Z search box. The results will include links to databases that include your journal, along with the dates available.

What if the periodical or journal I need is only available in paper format?

Use eLibrary , the library catalog, to find out if we have a periodical in paper format, and the dates available.

Enter the title of the periodical in the search,

If we have the periodical in paper format it will show up in the results

Click on the title to find out what years are available, and where they are located

Paper periodicals are kept in the Periodicals section.

Alternatively, you could search Google Scholar on campus and look for ling "Full Text@PI Library".

Once I find the journal, how do I find my article?

For journals in an electronic database, you can just search for the article using the title and author -- or sometimes there is a list of years or volumes of the periodical, and you can follow the links to your article

For paper versions of journals, go back to your citation information and find the exact year, volume, and issue of the journal.

What if the journal I’m looking for is not available through PI Library?

If the periodical you want is not available in PI Library in either paper or electronic versions, you may have to place an Interlibrary Loan to get a copy of the article. Please send us an email at ill@pi.ac.ae and we'll search other libraries such as ZU, UAEU, HCT or the British Library to find it for you.
