Summon Search
The fastest way to get started on your search for articles is to use the Petroleum Institute Library Summon search option from the Library Web page (www.pi.ac.ae/library). Enter search terms for your topic (such as "carbon footprint" or "ethane cracker") in the search box. Click on SEARCH and the results will come up: journal articles, books, eBooks and other materials related to your subject. Follow the links to find full text when available, or to find the location of books and other physical materials in the Library.
Research Databases
Summon search is fast and easy, but it's only the start. If you need more articles, you will need to use one or more of our research databases. These databases contain searchable lists of hundreds of thousands of articles, and many of the articles are available in full text right there in the database. You can see an alphabetical listing of our databases by going to the Library Website (www.pi.ac.ae/library) and clicking on the DATABASES link.
LibGuides
Need help deciding which database to use for your topic? Go to the PI Library LibGuides page located at: www.libguides.pi.ac.ae . The link also located under Databases and articles link on the Library Website. These Subject Research Guides, shown in alphabetical order by topic, were created by PI Librarians to help you with your research. They will offer links to the best database for your subject, as well as suggestions for reference books, resources on the open Web, organizations, and more. You will also see a link on the Research Guide page to tutorials that explain how to use the various databases and other resources available through PI Library.
